test pitting with the elderly

this morning i had to meet a client on site to dig test pits. basicaly its a 6' deep hole in the ground. i record soil characteristics such as color, structure, texture, etc. necessary for planning a development.

anyways. the guy who was digging was like 102 years old. lets just say he was not the smoothest backhoe operator i have seen :)

i kep hearing this loud, deep noise. i thought i was from the machine... but then i realized that the guys mouth was open every time i hurd it. conclusion: he likes to clear his throat in the loudest possible way. yikes.

headin down to boston for IBC party tonight. yay.
