so, im thinking of trading in my SAAB 9-2x for this

dunno. it would save a little bit on my monthly payment...but it would also save me alot in gas. it gets 34/38 mpg which is pretty sweet. the problem?? everyone is sold out. hmm. i have driven saabs for the past 12 years, not sure i want to jump ship.

thoughts????

I got a couple new programs for my nokia. im a cell phone dork & i'm the first to admit it...but this stuff is really cool. for those of you with phones running Symbian software, you should check this stuff out. The first is shozu. The previous version was great & allowed you to upload pictures automatically from your phone to an online photo sharing site such as flickr. Additionally, you could add pictures and blog right from the phone as well. Well they came out with version 2.0 and its sweet....now they added 'zucasts' which is like video podcasts.

Along those lines, the other software is Mobilcast. along the lines of the 'zucasts' this program has tons of varius podcasts ranging from sports to news to comedy to free music. they even have lots of NPR podcasts...

oh yeah, both of those are free.

"death from above 1979" rocks my socks off. as does 'its always sunny in philly"

i got home late, but still put 1hr in on the trainer, despite the oven-like temps in my living room. i actually felt really good. did a 40min block of tempo. i had planned to ride more, but it was already 8pm, and i was tired and hungry.

PT again tonight. Brian is back & he is much more aggressive then his assistant. no joke - at times, the PT hurts more than the crash!

anyways, allie had her 3rd interview this week. im soo proud of her, as she was one of the final 3 applicants from a field of over 1,000. Hopefully things will work out good for her!

thats it.

im hot. very hot.

i set up my AC in my living room (actually, i recruited ricky) and to my dismay it dont work. well, it works in that it blows & it will raise my electric bill. and i guess it did lower the temperature to 82 degrees..but still.. so i set up my trainer and went to town with a very scaled down training plan. i had my arm in the sling, and i had to sit up striaght, which got very boring in about 4 minutes. but i worked my way up after a few days and did a couple of 1.5hr days. not great, but better than i though i would do. all in all, i did 6.5hrs this week. eh. my goal is to get about 3 or 4 weeks of "base" in before i get a new plan from johs

today was THE day. back to the ortho surgeon to check on my shoulder. every little pain convinces me that the plate came off, or a screw came loose, etc... so its been 8 weeks, and i was soo nervous to see if i have any healing yet. verdict? nope. nada. i was really bummed out about this, but the doc seems pretty optimistic. he said it was good that none of the hardware has moved, and im starting to get my motion back (which is actually quite pathetic at this point). anyways, he said if he were shown the Xray from today 2 months ago, and told this is what it would look like at this point, he would be very happy. i guess.

so i get to take the sling off on wednesday. i have had this damn thing on now for over 10 weeks. time for a change. oh, and i can officially ride my trainer now...but just dont put too much weight on my arm/shoulder. this is good, but its too hot in my living room to be excited about this.
here is my new view.

me & allie went hiking @ pawtuckaway...not so much hiking, as walking in the woods with an assload of horseflies. oh, and it was really hot.

A little discouraged with the way PT went today. I didnt really see too much improvement over last week, despite the fact that i have really really REALLY been working hard on my stretches & exercises. ugh. On the plus side, i rode my trainer for 1hr today!! It is certainly not fun, given that its like 90 degress in my living room....and my arm is still in the sling, so i cant put any weight on my arms. makes it kinda awkward for any sort of length of time.

Anyways.... this weekend was the last of Allies vacation... it was pretty mellow, but we did head down to Sandy's cook out in souther mass. oh man this place was amazing. it was a great time..but i wish i had brought my stuff to sleep over down there.

So on friday, it was my first day of physical therapy. After 30 mins of questions, brian started taking measurements of how much i could move my arm. it was rather discouraging to see how little it would move, but he said this is what happens when your arm is in a sling for 8 weeks. anyways, i have been doing my stretches like crazy, and after 6 days, i have seen some big improvements.

sunday, me and allie headed down to fitchburg to watch the last of race of the stage race. we had a blast & i got to meet the remaining members of my team that i had yet to talk to. yash (with his new girl) and pierre were there from hup & it was cool to hang out with them. yash is a riot... anyways, after walking around for 5 hours in the sun (after doing a 2hr walk in the morning), we headed back..

monday we got up early & headed to the beach. i dont remember if i had ever been to odiorne point, so we started there. loads of trails thru the woods. we found this little opening & headed down to this awesome secluded beach. nice. again, we walked for like 5 hours....and i was soooo tired when i got back. we were almost dead on the couch @ 9pm watching le tour, when wendy texted me telling me to "rally up" & get up to concord. it was good to see her, but i cant deal with smokey bars anymore...

back to PT today.
