libertarian's view on minimum wage....
recent changes in NH to raise min wage...
Skilled, experienced workers make high wages because employers compete
to hire them. Poorly educated, inexperienced young people can't get
work because minimum wage laws make them too expensive to hire as
trainees. Repeal of the minimum wage would allow many young, minority
and poor people to work.
It must be asked, if the minimum wage is such a good idea, why not
raise it to $200 an hour? Even the most die-hard minimum wage advocate
can see there's something wrong with that proposal.
The only "fair" or "correct" wage is what an employer and employee
voluntarily agree upon. We should repeal minimum wage now.

Min. wage is too expensive to hire young "inexperienced" workers? Don't waitresses make $2.01 an hour? I can't even start on this viewpoint...it's absolutely ridiculous.
well, waitresses also get tips and can sometimes make a pretty good paycheck... my bar tender friend quit his engineering job because he made more money puring drinks...
anyways... say i start a landscaping company. I have X amount of income from projects... I need to hire 2, maybe 3 people do all the work.. BUT i can only afford XYZ amount total to go into payroll.
I have 3 high school kids that are willing and happy to work for $6/hr. I could hire all 3 of them and stay within my "budget". OR I could hire 2 of them at the new minimum wage requirements and now the 3rd kid is S.O.L. because I can't afford to keep him on staff.
In this kids case, getting paid $6/hr is certainly better than not getting paid at all.
......
anyways, getting paid min wage sucks (i have been there)... and i can see why people would want it inceased to a higher rate, more suitable to meet a standard of living.. dunno, just sharing viewpoints...
