New Changes

So, i had to keep this under wraps for a bit, but everything is now official, and I am psyched to let you know that I am moving to a new job starting Jan 2nd. I will be working for Autodesk, as a product support analyst for thier Civil 3d software. I am beyond excited about this opportunity. It will be a big, big change for me, but one that I think I will excel at.

I have actually been thiking about this being something I would be interested in for the last few years, but I never pursued it. I have a degree in Wetland Ecology & have always felt kinda guilty for wanting to pursue anything other than that field. Its taken me a while to get to the point where I can admit to myself that I dont like doing wetland work. not at all. i also dont feel like that is were my strengths are. So once i got to the point where I decided to pursue this, it all went fast. really really fast. but thats good.

So I gave my notice yesterday & it couldnt have gone better. my boss was genuinely happy for me, and that was really important to me.

anyways. so thats whats goign on in my life right now. I start Jan 2nd, and am gonna spend the next 4 weeks learning everything I can about the software. Once I start, I will have about 4 weeks of training, as well.

im soo stoked ;)

Right on, congrats!

Autodesk is going to sponsor the team, right? Get cracking on that.

You would do well to remember your boss' reaction to you telling him that you're leaving. You too will be in his shoes some day. If you foster good relationships with your peers and employees, good things will come back to you. It is always good to see people leave for better opportunities. The world is better for that. Never begrudge anyone that opportunity, even if it puts you out in the short term.

New day, new way, bro.
